No doubt Trains are hands down our favorite way to commute. I have always loved Indian train travels. My father was in a transferable job and so packing, relocating and long train journeys had become a part of my growing years. Sometimes we had to spend days in the confinement of those few seats . We would spend time making new friends , share and exchange stories with them, share food , play some games , read books etc . And yes .. those small fights for window seat with my brother !! Oh those days was so much fun !!
Another highlight of train journey for me is local regional food vendors . Mom always packed a home cooked meal for the journey consisting of roti and various other things. But regional food sold in station is what attracted me .. hehe !!! They looked very appetizing.. but then she never allowed me to eat them sighting hygiene as an issue .
