Bengaluru Baking Company at JW Marriott Bengaluru is city’s one of the trendiest networking patisserie. Few days back i was invited for a masterclass at BBC along with few other foodies and i was happy that i could be a part of it . Apart from getting a sneak peek into BBC signature specials from the new menu , i was extremely lucky to learn the perfect way to make a chocolava cake !!
Bengaluru Baking Co. is JW Marriott Bengaluru’s patisserie and redefines a classic pastry shop. Offering a novel gourmet experience with an interactive open baking area, the menu at BBC includes a lavish spread of freshly crafted snacks and beverages. Guests can indulge in a wide variety of pastries and made-to-order sandwiches prepared by Chef Daniel along with coffees and teas, and fruit juices.
Chef Daniel Koshy is the Executive Pastry Chef at JW Mariott , Bangalore . He has been instrumental in Opening The Bengaluru Baking Company in July 2013. He is currently the face of BBC conducting his popular baking classes for kids and adults . He also offers amateur bakers an oppurtunity to be a Pastry Chef for a Day with a novel and bespoking experience .
The day started with learning Taco Salad both Indian and Mexican style .This Mexican inspired Taco Salad indeed spiced the things up . The Taco shell was so crispy crunchy and the salad made from corn , kidney beans was so refreshing and healthy . I am surely gonna keep making it in my kitchen often .
Next dish of the day was Jamaican Jerk which i didn’t taste as it was made from Chicken .But people who tasted it loved it . As per them , ingredients such as chilies , thyme ,cinnamon garlic and nutmeg was blending so well to give a nice kick to the filling .
Then we learnt how to make Caprese Sandwich . The real distinguishing factor of an amazing sandwich is when you hear that crunch as you bite it . And this Caprese Sandwich had it . The juicy tomatoes with fresh buffalo mozarella and fragnant basil Pesto made a fantastic vegetarian sandwich .
Last but not the least was the hero of the day ” Chocolate Lava Cake ” . The chef demonstrated the making of the choco lava cake from scratch during which he shared with us many tips and secreats to make it perfect . He made the making look so simple … Once done the dessert went for baking and within few minutes the soft spongy choco lava cake was ready to relish . It looked so appealing . We couldn’t wait any further to taste it. n Wow !! it was so yummmmm….melt in mouth…it was the best dish of the day for me. There is literally no gesture more romantic than melted chocolate oozing out of a cake … Oh Man !! the taste is still lingering as i am writing this post….
All in all it was a morning well spent with like minded bloggers amongst the lovely ambiance, food &drinks. Thank you Marriott for the invite and a big big thanks to the Chef who was so simple and down to earth .
