Italian cuisine is known for its regional diversity, abundance of difference in taste, and is known to be one of the most popular cuisine in the world .I totally agree with Chef Antonello Cancedda that authentic Italian dish is not just pastas n pizzas but much beyond that.I’m so thankful to the JW Marriott hotel for the invitation to meet the Chef first hand. We just didn’t meet but had an amazing time helping Chef cooking up few Tuscany dishes .
I am sure few people must be wondering what this ” Tuscan food ” is all about ? Tuscan-style cooking evolved from peasant cooking.Simplicity is central to the Tuscan cuisine. Legumes, bread, wine, cheese, vegetables, mushrooms and fresh fruit are used widely.
The Italian expat chef from JW Marriott Chandigarh, demonstrated us thoroughly the various Tuscany dishes .After getting an insight about the theme of the day , we were all ready to taste few Italian cuisine.
Alba @ JW Mariott Bangalore has a great ambiance . A lovely place for a nice romantic dinner as well for casual dining. A very unusual but pleasant seating arrangement .The high ceiling, the chandeliers, the upholstery, the sheer add on to the ambiance.
Afternoon started with preparing desert Tiramisu’ tradizionale . Chef showed us the making of tiramisu from scratch with few blogger friends assisting him. Once done the dessert went for setting. He made the making look so simple…
After the dessert it was time to see a live demonstration of Red wine Pappardelle . It was fun to watch the chef preparing handmade pastas and explain the process in between and we all just loved the end product .
Colored capsicums, brocolli pumpkin puree ,a few spices etc went into the pasta making it truly delectable .
Next dish i didnt taste as it was non veg but the platting looked so colorful. It was Grilled chicken with Diavola (devil) sauce ,mashed potato and some sauteed veggies . my non veg friends were praising the Diavola sauce.
By the time we finished tasting these two dishes, our Tiramisu was set .It looked so appealing . We couldn’t wait any further to taste it. n Wow !! it was so yummmmm….melt in mouth…it was the best dish of the day for me.
Overall a great afternoon spent with friends cooking ,learning and tasting lovely Italian dishes. To add to it ,the Chef was so down to earth and lively. He made us feel so comfortable by cracking few jokes, sharing his stories.. the whole session was so interactive. Thanks Marriott again.
There’s a great news to all Bangloreans . You too can taste this yummilicious dishes. The Tuscan food festival is on until the 24th of August and is a must visit for anyone wanting to go through an Italian gastronomic journey. The festival offers a bunch of lipsmacking authentic delicacies well crafted to suit everyones tastebuds .
Hurry rush to Alba @ JW Mariott , Bangalore and do experience the Tuscany Cuisine ….
