Wash rice and pressure cook for 3 whistles by adding required amount of water . Take care not to over cook rice and make them mushy. Once the pressure is released, spread the rice on a plate and allow this to cool.
Clean and cut cabbage thin .. ie shredded.
In a pan / kadai , heat oil .Add the cumin seeds . Let they splutter .
Add in slit green chilli , sliced onion and ginger garlic paste . Saute for 1-2 mins . Let the onions turn translucent and raw smell go.
Add in tomatoes , tsp salt and saute till tomatoes are soft
Add in green peas , cabbage , salt and fry 1-2 mins. Cover and cook 3-4 mins . No need to add water . Retain crunchiness of cabbage. Stir in between
Next add masala s one by one ie haldi , red chilli powder , dhania powder and garam masala powder . Mix well . Cabbage mixture is ready .
Lastly add chopped coriander leaves and cooked cooled rice . Mix well . If required add salt .
That's it Cabbage rice is ready to serve . Serve as such or with raita , papad or curd
