2-3nosripe Kerala Nendran Banana / Nendra Bale hannu
3-4tbspJaggery
Instructions
Take Ripe Nendra banana ( Kerala banana) . More the ripe better the result .
Just cut the banana , into big pieces.
Next prepare a steamer / pressure cooker . You can use an idli vessel tooalso for steaming. When water starts boiling , place banana pieces in the steamer.
Steam cook for 10-15 mins. Cooking time depends on how ripe bananas are ( might take few more mins if the bananas are less ripe) . The skin of the banana loosens once they are cooked and bananas would have turned soft. This is the indication that it's done.
Take out from steamer. If you want , can serve this plain steamed warm Nendran Banana at this stage itself. Tastes good. To make it more tastier... continue with next step .Peel off the bananas skin
To a pan add few tbsp of jaggery. Quantity of jaggery depends on your preferred sweetness and how sweet bananas are
Add 1/2 cup water and melt jaggery. We just have to melt jaggery , no need any syrup consistency or anything. This takes 1-2 mins.
Drop the bananas to jaggery syrup. Mix gently such that banana pieces are well coated with jaggery syrup .
Simmer and cook for 2-3 mins . Let the banana pieces absorb the jaggery syrup nicely.
Enjoy warm as such like a snack or can serve it with puttu . Soft , tangy and so delicious .
