Do you love the king of fruits — Mango ? i just Love them … i am a big mango fan . Every year I look forward to mango and relish it in all its form . Last week when i got an invite from India’s favorite & largest vegetarian thali chain Khandani Rajdhani to savor their “Aamlicious – Mango festival ” ..my hunger for mangoes increased more . And wow !! what a thali it was .. an absolute indulgence for any foodie!!
Rajdhani, also known as Vegetarian ” Thali Palace ” , has been in existence for over five decades and is renowned for its commitment to authentic , hygienic and variety food from Gujarat and Rajasthan .Rajdhani Restaurants has over 27 locations across India and is also present in the Middle East. With the onset of summer , Khandani Rajdhani is all geared up to create a magical feast for all of us with the most spectacular fruit of the season – the delightful Mango! The two-month long festival will bring together royal Rajasthani and Gujarati recipes cooked with raw as well as ripe alphonso mangoes. The rotating menu ensures there’s always some new Mango dish in your thali each time you visit during the festival.
I was invited to Rajdhani’s Indiranagar Bangalore outlet .On reaching the restuarant ,was welcomed traditionally , by applying a ” tikka ” and aarthi .Rajdhani believes in ” Athithi devo bhava ” .
The ambience was simple but nice and soothing with a rajasthani touch . Few bloggers had already reached the venue .
Once we were settled ,started the marathon Mango Fare.. each one was so yummy . Wish i had an extra tummy 🙂 … More than words .. photos would surely make you drool .. here i go …
The Maharaja Thali says it all… uff !! mango Salads , mango pickles , papad , muthia , kairi wadi , dal bati , churma , aam dal dhokli , aam ki launji , 4 different side dish , gatte ki sabzi , fajeto , assorted flat breads , mango pulao , kichdi , curd rice , aamras , mango jalebi with rabdi , gulab jamoon, panna, aam lassi , chaas …… the menu was so long that i am sure i would have missed mentioning a few here . It was a wonderful celebration of hero of the day – ” Aam ” . Though most of the dishes were made with mango in various forms we didnt feel like ” oh no not again… ” . Each dish had its unique taste , flavor and balance . For me the bestest dish of the day was mango jalebi with rabdi .
If you too are a Mango Lover, then you must visit your nearest Khandani Rajdhani . i am sure you would just enjoy the thali as i did … Mango Festival is on going till 15th June 2015. for more details do check
