Few weeks back i received a mail from Tupperware, asking me to extend my support in their “Care4Food campaign” by sharing my tips, ideas and experience of Tupperware. I happily agreed to do so and be a part of the good cause.
Tupperware products are not new to us. For over 60 years, Tupperware has been creating a niche for itself in the business world, making a difference to the lives of millions through its innovative storage products, kitchen gadgets and extremely attractive business opportunity.
I have been using Tupperware lunch box right when i was in college . After marriage, my kitchen cabinates are filled with Tupperware storage boxes, Tupperware cutting tools, fridges with Tupperware storing containers,Tupperware bottles and now my kiddos lunch boxes are also from tupperware. I can proudly say i am one big fan of Tupperware products. I love Tupperware products as they are long lasting, completely safe, spill proof, Eco-friendly, non-toxic and above all food stays fresh for a longer time when stored in them.
Care4Food is an initiative taken by Tupperware to make caring for food a lifestyle and necessity to follow in this modern era. It is working on spreading the message of food saving through the Care4Food campaign. It’s a platform that offers methods to take care of food at various levels from buying, storing, preparation and left over management.
I hate wasting food and most of the times i never do it. I feel very sorry to see millions of people dying in hunger … and at the same time there are millions of tons of food being thrown away, wasted, discarded, whatever…for no good reason most of the times. Wasting food is not good for anyone in anyway -to the economy, to the environment or to our own ethical justification
Cutting back on food waste is incredibly easy…
Here are some ways by which you can stop wasting food and join hands with ” CARE4FOOD CAMPAIGN” initiated by Tupperware…
Before you shop
Look in your kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer before each shopping trip. You can reduce waste by knowing what you already have to use up.
Make a shopping list
Make a shopping list, take it to the shop and stick to it.That way you ‘l not buy extra stuff.

At the shops
The decisions you make when buying food can help you to start saving money and stop wasting food.Read the label and check the ‘use by’ date before you buy.Buy super saver offer stuff only if you know you have space to store them.
Storing your food
Where and how we keep the food we buy can make a big difference to how long it lasts.Check out for labels that mentions the storing method. For ex grains, pulses, spices etc store in Tupperware dry Storage .
Vegetables, herbs, fruits etc keep in Tupperware cool and fresh fridge storage container and keep in fridge. And the things that needs to be freezed ,put it in Tupperware freezer proof container and store.
By storing properly, you can extend the life of your food. And always clear up the things that you have bought first. this way you can finish them off before they spoil.
This helps me to be more organized and prevent food wastage.
Serve leftover in a new Avatar
Always try to cook only as much is required. But sometimes we cant’t help ,there would be left over.In order to avoid wastage, of course we can’t overstuff us but at the same time i will not advice you to put into thrash .Store leftovers in the fridge in airtight containers for freshness. And next day, give yesterday’s dinner a new life in a new recipe.
And the MOST IMPORTANT SHARING IS CARING :
Instead of wasting food start sharing your food with people who are less fortunate than you are ..bring a smile to someone in need of food …..Next time before you waste food …. please just think once about those of millions of people who die everyday just for FOOD…. You can save atleast one of them…
Change is possible dear friends….lets pledge today to never waste food again !!!
I would thank Tupperware for giving me an opportunity to be a part of Care4food Campaign…
