Preparing the Batter

  2. Take a large mixing bowl and sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder. Sifting helps remove lumps and ensures the dry ingredients are evenly combined, which gives the cake a smoother texture.

  2. Heat the fresh cream in a small pan until it becomes warm. Do not let it boil completely. Pour the warm cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit undisturbed for about a minute.
  3. Slowly stir the mixture until the chocolate melts fully and forms a smooth, glossy ganache. If needed, let the ganache cool slightly for a thicker consistency before spreading it on the cake.

Decorating the Cake

  1. Place the cooled cake on a serving plate or cake stand. Spread the chocolate ganache evenly on top using a spatula or the back of a spoon. You can keep the frosting simple or create textured swirls for a bakery-style look.
  2. Decorate the cake with chocolate shavings, sprinkles, chopped nuts, or fresh berries depending on your preference. Even minimal decoration can make the cake feel festive and special.
