Hurray… There’s a great news to all chocolate lovers !!! World famous luxury Japanese chocolate ROYCE, is soon to be available in Namma Bengaluru !!! Being a Bangalorean , i feel proud when i hear these kind of news .. shows how established Bangalore is becoming.Chocolate is one of my favorite treats and I was excited when i received an invite from J.W Mariott for a sneak peak into ROYCE Chocolates .
ABOUT ROYCE :
The brand was founded in 1983 in Sapporo, the capital city of Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido. Over the years, it has grown from Hokkaido’s best-kept secret to an international phenomenon and offers a wide array of fresh chocolate products that are rich in flavors, textures, complexity and uniqueness. ROYCE is known for its unique ingredients and approach to chocolate making.
Burgundy Hospitality-a fine foods venture by Avani Raheja and Samir Gadhok, are the partners for this unique brand of artisan chocolates in India.
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH ROYCE :
When i first heard “ROYCE – From Japan ” , I was like ” World famous chocolate from Japan??!!” I was under misconception that Japan = Sushi ; Swiss,Belgium = Chocolate.A big thanks to Burugundy hospitality for bringing ROYCE to India. I must admit it’s an absolute bliss to all chocolate lovers.
We started off with Avani ,Samir and Celebrity Chef Jolly giving us an insight about ROYCE chocolates, what makes ROYCE unique, What sets it apart from other famous brands etc.
Then started the real treat to taste buds. We were first offered their signature most hot selling ROYCE’sNAMA chocolate.
True to the Japanese commitment to perfection, packaging was so impressive. Each pack is accompanied by a cooling dry ice pack and sealed in thick silver packaging. This way, shoppers can continue their spree for hours without worrying about the chocolate melting into a gooey mess!
Accompanied with it comes mini-spades, making the process of lifting and shoveling them straight into your mouth so easy. Each box contains twenty pieces of chocolate blocks covered in fine powdery cacao and each piece is so addictive that you will get hooked to it right from the first piece.
It is alluringly creamy with a velvety texture and subtle aroma. Its just melt in mouth kind of with taste of chocolate exploding your mouth …Oh the bittersweet pleasure !! There are about 4 variants in Nama range and each one is so unique ,awesome and simply irresistible.
What followed next was the ROYCE BATON COOKIES..
There are two varieties to the baton cookies, one being coconuts another one is hazelcocoa. Both the cookies were so light and thin.I liked the fact that they are individually packed and make serving so easy for guest.Though both of them were good ,i loved Coconut flavor more for its buttery texture.Chocolate and coconut complimented well making them Quite addictive .
People have different preferences to chocolate – some prefer milky, some prefer dark and few like chocolates that are extravagant in looks with a piece of gold foil. If you too come under that category ,then ROYCE CRIOLLO CHOCOLATE is for you.
This is the chocolate that so royal in its packaging, chocolate that fully conveys the intense and delicate flavor of the rare and most expensive, Criollo cacao bean. A pure dark chocolate with a bitter tang on our palate, its so soothing and comforting that we get slowly addictive to it.
Royce has a huge range of chocolates to choose from and as i said before each was so unique and thoughtfully designed.I realized it again after tasting ROYCE PURE CHOCOLATE.
Beautiful facade,weight,shape..everything is so well calculated to enhance the texture. It is available in 4 varieties based on cocoa percentage.
The last but not the least in chocolate tasting was a bouncer indeed … ROYCE POTATOCHIP CHOCOLATE. We got to know that other than Nama chocolates , these were the most hot selling product.Once i munched the first piece i released how true it was .Chocolates + Salted Potato Chips, two absolute delights, clubbed together.. Yumm.. two sins in one !!Initially i was very skeptical, curious as how they might taste. But wow !! they both compliment each other so well, they are just best …I am sure they will be super hit in birthday parties ..
All in all the event was absolute delight with we tasting and relishing chocolates ,chocolates and more chocolates…..Thanks J.W Marriot for the invite.. Had a great time tasting the yummies ..Also happy to have met celebrity Chef Jolly ..He is such a simple man..
FINAL VERDICT :
ROYCE chocolates are one of best chocolates that i have tasted till date from Asia. It might seem expensive when compared to normal Indian chocolates but then it is quality over quantity. They are just melt in mouth, awesome. ROYCE’ chocolates is one of the best gifts that you can gift to yourself or to your special ones .Their signature,Nama Chocolate is a sinful pleasure like no other..A perfect gift for indulgence…
