Hot and Sour Soup , one of the popular choice of Indo Chinese soup when visiting a restaurant . Spicy, tangy, loaded with veggies , a classic restaurant style dish that’s super easy to recreate at home . Once veggies are chopped , making this soup hardly takes 10 mins to make .
To make the soup , you can use choice of veggies like beans ,carrot , capsicum , cabbage , mushroom , baby corn etc .. anything you have handy . A veggie loaded soup , tastes amazing when served hot l.
Hot and sour soup recipe with step by step photos
- To a pan , add 2-3 tbsp oil . Once oil is hot , add 5-6 flakes finely chopped Garlic . Saute for a minute.
- Once garlic is slightly roasted , add 1/2 finely chopped Onion , tsp of finely chopped grated Ginger and 1-2 finely chopped Green Chilli . Fry for a min . Let onions turn soft .
- Later add 2 cups of mixed veggies like beans , carrot , cabbage , capsicum , mushroom etc . Add salt to taste tsp Sugar and tsp of Pepper Powder .
- Stir fry for 2-3 minutes , let the veggies get half cooked .. but maintain the crunchyness .
- add 4 cup water and cover and cook for 1-2 minutes .
- Next add all the sauces 1-1 ie tsp of Soya Sauce , tsp of red chilli sauce , tsp of vinegar . Boil for 2-3 minutes , let the flavours get absorbed well.
- Now prepare cornflour slurry by mixing 2 tbsp cornflour in ¼ cup water. Pour the slurry into the soup and mix well.
- Continue to boil for 2 more minutes or until soup thickens slightly.
- Lastly, add finely chopped spring onion and enjoy hot and sour soup.

- 2 tbsp Cornflour
- Spring onion to garnish
