I am not a big fan of oats. Oats are known for their health benefits because of its dietary fibers, iron and cholesterol reducing agents. After knowing that they have so many health benefits and is good for weight loss i started including oats in my diet from past few years. But trust me oats in this smoothie tastes so good ,gives a good texture and volume . If you are still asking me wont it be weird , just trust me and try .
If you are not looking to have hot spicy breakfasts this summer, you must try this strawberry oats smoothie .. definitely so filling and refreshing!! & the best part is , it’s Sugar free .
Recipe with step by step photos :
- Soak 2 tbsp oats for 10 mins . Transfer the soaked oats to a blender .
- Add frozen strawberry.
- Soak 6-8 almonds and 1-2 walnuts overnight or for 2-3 hours. Add soaked nuts to the blender .
- Soak a tsp chia seed for 10 mins . Add it to the blender .
- You can add a scoop of protien powder too if you want . However this is purely optional .
- Add chilled milk as required . Add a tbsp of honey , 2-3 drops of Vanilla essence and blend .
- Thick and creamy Strawberry Oats Smoothie is ready . Pour it into serve glass and enjoy.
Points to Note :
- Adding oats in smoothie is a great way to add some fiber. It also makes smoothie filling by adding good volume and texture. I have used quick cooking oats .
- Addition of protein powder is purely optional. You can skip if you don’t use.
- You can replace strawberry with banana / blueberry / apple or add mix of fruits .
- The amount of honey can be adjusted to taste, it also depends on how sweet the fruits are.
Strawberry Oats Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 -3 tbsp Quick Oats , soaked 10 mins
- 7-8 nos Frozen strawberries
- 6-8 nos Badam , soaked overnight
- 1-2 nos Walnut, soaked overnight
- 1 tsp Chia seeds , soaked
- 1 scoop Protein powder, optional
- 2-3 drops Vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp Honey, optional
- 1 cup Milk, Chilled
Instructions
- Soak oats for 10 mins .
- Soak chia seeds for 10 mins .
- Soak Almonds and walnuts overnight or 2-3 hours.
- To a blender add soaked oats , frozen strawberry , soaked nuts , chia seeds, protein powder , honey , vanilla essence , chilled milk and blend .
- Thick and creamy Strawberry Oats Smoothie is ready . Pour it into serve glass and enjoy.
